RFP Manager (Vice President)

bcdemocracy’s mission is to build a more trusted democratic process through blockchain technology. As we grow to achieve that mission, we’re seeking an experienced RFP Manager to manageour efforts in composing, reviewing, and responding to Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, and other technical questionnaires for various government agencies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with stellar communications skills, a track record of writing and managing successful RFP processes, and a strong analytical background to join a growing technology startup at the ground level. 

The RFP Manager will own the execution and delivery of all prospect requests, and will work closely with the company’s management team to develop proposal operations for bcdemocracy. Responsibilities include developing an overall proposal strategy that is consistent, efficient, and successful at winning new business, as well as assisting with research, pricing, and coordinating other sales activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with cross functional partners in Product Management, Design, Data Science and Engineering to enable delivery of the highest impact work.
  • Own the entire RFP and proposal process, including monitoring, coordination, creation, and delivery of Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Information (RFIs), and other questionnaires from sales prospects 
  • Coordinate with product and technical teams to provide the best responses and ensure timely responses to RFPs including organizing standard responses to common proposal questions
  • Create system to track and manage RFP process, including RFP / ITQ Workflows and Risk Assessments 
  • Develop and maintain proposal language library, proposal templates, and resource documents
  • Assist in various research, data analysis, and other business development projects
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A positive attitude and a passion for government innovation
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, startup environment  
  • Experience developing process where little exists, and demonstrated flexibility to get things done
  • Persuasive written and oral communication skills and the ability to develop a clear, concise and convincing value message for our RFP/ITQ responses
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Ability to ramp up quickly and learn new technologies with minimal lag time.
  • Experience with pricing strategy, competitive analysis, and data collection and analysis in relation to government agencies a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years’ proposal writing experience for government or on behalf of a technology company; familiarity with artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, or SaaS strongly preferred
